Synopsis

Dr. Sherrilene Classen led the i-Mobile Research Lab, University of Western Ontario, to examine the efficacy of DriveFocus as an intervention on the visual scanning of critical roadway information and adjustment to stimuli of teen novice drivers, assessed via a Drive Safety CSD-200 high fidelity driving simulator. The DriveFocus is an iPad application that analyzes a client’s ability to identify, prioritize, and react to various driving situations through interactive video technology, filmed in a dynamic driving environment. This study involved nine one-hour sessions and consisted of: a baseline clinical assessment and an assessment of driving performance on the simulator; three one-hour interventions;  a post-test; three more interventions and a second post-test.
