Classen, S., & Alvarez, L. (2015). Caregivers’ impressions predicting fitness to drive in persons with Parkinson’s. The Occupational Therapy Journal of Research: Occupation, Participation and Health, 36 (1), 5-13. DOI: 10.1177/1539449215601117

Synopsis:

Parkinson’s disease’s impact on fitness-to-drive has created a need for early identification of at-risk drivers. This study investigated caregivers of drivers with PD’s ability to predict on road outcomes and determine if the caregivers’ responses differed from those of the drivers. Results indicated that caregivers’ risk impressions were significant predictors of passing an on-road assessment.
