Synopsis:

Prior to this study, there had been no on-road assessment developed or validated in the South African context for fitness to drive. This study examined the validity of the Stellenbosch University on-road assessment, by assessing between group differences of novice and experienced drivers as well as using feedback from peer and expert reviews. Peer and expert reviews indicated face and content validity while one of two on-road outcome measures indicated construct validity, partially validating this measure for use in the South African context.
